18th December 2010

Yet another dollop of snow and the country has come to a halt for the 2nd time in 2 weeks.

Strangely enough, I made it into work at the weekend, to do some bits and bobs..

Not much to report.. same old same old.... Just hope we can make it down to Kent to see the family in a couple of days.

13th December 2010

Not much to say...

I've been working... Jen has been doing stuff that needed sorting..

But at the weekend, we went to Kent to visit Chris and his new baby Ethan...

Its strange to see, because we left the UK before Claire was pregnant... so upon our return they have a new baby...

Well done guys..

8th December 2010

Busy busy busy!!

From super snowfalls came some slightly warmer weather (still under 0 degrees!)

We met up with some friends at the weekend to have a few beers and a curry in Basingstoke. It was lovely to see everybody and catch us with gossip.....but it was a stark reminder of a Saturday night in Basingstoke... never an enjoyable sight when it starts to get late.

After the weekend, most of the snow had melted. This gave me a chance to remove 20,000 DVDs from my premises to ship out to another warehouse as the client has moved on to pastures greener (he thinks...) and was just using us as storage..

Here they are finally packed up and ready to go.

Next up for the cleaning treatment, was the dvd print area... A few hours of washing surfaces, putting things away, and hoovering made me a lot happier...

Now just the rest of the office to do....

Meanwhile, in Koh Tao.... yesterday they had a return of the Monsoon in a big way.. Major rainfall in 1 hour caused this...

Maybe I should stop moaning about the weather? NAH!!

1st December 2010

So, its back to work as normal for me.... except the office when I walked in looked more like a dump than an office... It'll take me a week or so to get things tidy.... grrrr.

The office being an absolute mess, the weather being -4, snow and ice, rotten cold and ear infection... and you can imagine I am not in the best of moods!

26th November 2010

Off the plane at 5am, and back to Jen's sisters house.

Jesus, its cold here. -2c on arrival, and it has not increased. Snow is still forecast... We are still in a state of shock (or frozen?)..

First on the agenda was doctors appointments. Then collect our car (ka!). Thanks to Martyn for purchasing ahead of our arrival. The only thing that doesn't work is the damm heater!!! Typical!!

After visit to the docs, and booking an ENT appointment for 6th Jan, we sorted out insurance on the car.

A quick visit to the office, to say Hi, and back to the farm, where I decided to fall asleep on the sofa.. Could not keep my eyes open. Eventually, both of us were in bed by 8pm.

Up for a couple of hours at 3am (jet lag) I got back to sleep, and we both woke up bright and early...

21st November 2010

So after spending the morning packing a few things, we went on the afternoon boat, and for the first time in a while... the sun came out :-)

We had a couple of fun dives at Twins, with Divemaster Trainee Timo practicing his briefings and leading underwater, while we evaluated him. Timo is Finnish (which means he's a bit of a nutcase!) has a lot of energy and charisma. I think he will make an excellent Divemaster and Instructor eventually. Well done Timo.

In the evening, it was time for Sunday Roast & Settlers... very nice.!

20th November 2010

Sorry for the lack of posts.

Both Simon and I have been busy teaching a Rescue course for the last few days.  It's was only a one person course but it's been a lot of fun.  Our student, Stephanie is going on to do the Eco courses,  Reef Check and Marine Resource Management which is just brilliant.

I think in the next couple of days we'll be taking it easy, packing and hopefully getting in as many dives as possible before we head home on the 25th.

We're both really looking forward to seeing the family but it's going to be strange not being able to dive everyday.
