Day 188 - 8th August 2010

Today, it was back into the classroom for some theory stuff.

After a quick bite to eat for Lunch, we headed to Shark Bay to study the original Biorock, which is a long strip of metal on the ocean floor about 3m deep. The metal is supplied with low voltage electricity to increase coral growth by up to 5x

Since this Biorock has been down for 5 years, it has an enormous amount of coral growth.

We spent a couple of hours snorkelling, doing surveys on the Biorock before going to look for some Blacktip sharks. Sadly, no sign of them..

Back to Crystal, and the weather was coming in strong, so we hit the road home before the heavens opened.

Later on, we nipped out for some takeaway Thai food, and back home for a cuddle.
