17 Nov 2017

It's so lovely to have Simon back.     It wasn't great that when he did arrive back in Thailand, he had to spend an extra night on Koh Samui due the timing of the boats.  Sods law really, you arrive on time thinking you have lots of time and then you hit the biggest immigration queue ever and that has a knock on effect on everything!

He is my Superman!!

It doesn't really take long to get back into the swing of things and before you know it a couple of weeks have nearly gone by.    Si's been teaching Self Reliant, social media, the bar and just about everything else and looking after everyone else ..time just goes!!

I currently have a 19 yr old Norwegian (navy) chap that's doing a 6 week ECO internship.  It's good to have a helping hand, even though he only likes doing some jobs, he's a little bit cocky and knows best, all the time, but he's a good lad  LOL!

Oli, my intern doing a research project for me

It's Saturday today and I've spent most of the day in bed.  I bent down to empty the recycling crate  and put my back out.  So after finishing off a few bits in the office, Si took me home and I've been here ever since.  It's feeling much better today but still have trouble walking up straight.  I hope it doesn't last too long.  It's a  right pain!!  LOL

Lomprayer Ferry to Samui

Today is a very sad day indeed as Simon is on this Ferry.  He's got nearly 2 days of travelling.  Koh Samui, Bangkok, Seoul, New York and then finally Orlando.  I do hope that there are no delays, the food is OK and that he manages to get some sleep.

I miss him so much already!!

22nd October 2017

Simon and I made chili salsa together this morning as we had to use all the chili's up before they went off.  Not the usual start to a Sunday but it was fun.    Sundays are great, especially if Simon't not working and We do like to have a little bit of a lazy start to Sundays.  Starting with a cup of tea in bed, maybe watch something on TV,  drink some coffee and then have a lovely cooked breakfast.
I do so love Sundays!

Today I went out for a cycle with  Linda, a friend who was here 3 years ago.  Fiona and the gang met her and as we had lunch in Pranee's together.  She's here for 3 weeks and she's helping out on the odd Eco day for me which has been great.  Wednesday she's running the Beach & Dive site clean up for me as it's Simon's last day before he travels to the U.S. so I want to spend as much time together as possible.  Simon and I were talking the other night as I don't think we've spent more than a couple of nights away from each other since we've been married.  I'm really going to miss him!!

We didn't enjoy cycling up to this view point but it was worth it I think ;-D
I sometimes forget how truly beautiful the island is.

This is Freedom Beach, I've been there with both Rosie and Fiona, Chris, Chloe & Iona :-D
Fond memories  ..if you were all here now, it' would be magic!

I ran into this little fella today.  He was at the side of the road just munching away.  I had to stop and take a photo.  He's the only normal pig I've seen on the island so far.  There are a few tiny wild boars but that's it.    I love pigs!!

Sunset from the Crystal bar

We've had some stunning sunsets recently.

14th October 2017

It's been a manic time for Simon.  He's got Social media stuff coming out his ears, filming Open Waters & Advanced courses back to back, teaching Self Reliant, replacing tv's, helping various people out with their pc's whilst running the bar and dealing with all my ECO updates ..he is just amazing the amount of work he squeezes into a day!!

The Multi-task King :-)

I've been out diving most days doing ECO.  It's been fun and have managed to get a lot done, thanks to Simon & some DMT's.   What's really good is that Linda, an old eco dive dive buddy is back for a few weeks.  She's been diving with me, helping with coral transplants and Adopt a Coral.

Me, checking out our transplants
One of our 'Adopt A Coral'

Yesterday Linda hired a bike and we went cycling together.  It's so nice to have a cycling buddy.  In the time that Linda's been away, most of the roads have been concreted, which makes it a lot easier to cycle.  Back in the day, most of the roads were just sandy tracks which made it very difficult and dangerous in places as it was so uneven and steep.  I must say that I'm a little achy today but determined to go out for another pedal :-D

Clean Up with the Municipality & Army
