OZ Day 9 Camper

Today we travelled into Sydney from our caravan site, which is as near as we can get to the city centre (17km North of it).

We all know that public transport is a pain, but it took us 2 hours to reach the city centre! A bus for 45 mins, then wait for a ferry, and when it arrived, another 30 minute journey.

Once there we visited the Sydney Opera house, and the Sydney harbour bridge before walking miles around the city.

It is another big city and although its nice seeing famous icons of our world... I am still left with a feeling of island syndrome !! (Its been a month and still not adjusting!!!).

We are based here for another 4 days until Jen completes her exam. We are going to see if we can get on a whale watching boat tomorrow, and organise a shark dive at an aquarium... SWEET!

By the way guys, these photos that are uploaded are clickable to enlarge... in case you didn't know!

OZ Day 8 Camper

Day 8 we woke up to a brisk cold, sunny day. We went to another graveyard to clean a family grave, and then headed to a Chocolate Shop.. This place served "real" hot chocolate which entailed hot milk in a tall cup with a candle heating it underneath. Then you plopped large buttons of chocolate in a stirred... Sound good? It wasn't!! None of us liked it sadly!!! Oh well, you gotta try things..!

We then went to the 3 sisters, which are 3 tall rocks which have a legend attached to them. 3 hot women were turned to stone by a sorcerer to prevent the advances of randy geezers... Unfortunately he died before turning them back to human force... Tough luck!

We spent the night at the same town, before heading to Sydney the day after!

OZ Day 7 Camper

Hey guys!

After the fruit machine win we retired, and woke up early the next day for a long drive from Canberra to Richmond (near Sydney)... Then after cleaning some graves with Jens family, we carried on to the Blue Mountains. Arrived and parked up before Jen did some study and I cooked dinner.

OZ Day 6 Camper

Hey peeps....!

We motored up to Canberra today.. Australia's capital.. Not much different really... same old same old.. BUT! We did find a veggie restaurant with so many dishes I couldn't decide what to eat... brilliant.!

Then we met Pete (another relative) and went to the Golf club for dinner, and play "pokies" which are basic fruit machines... Now I thought when in Rome etc, so stuck $20 in a machine and hey ho... out comes $2896 dollars...! WHO DA MAN... Just for your exchange rate info... Thats about £1000!!!! Guess my excess luggage is sorted!

Off early into the mountains tomorrow, and maybe if we have time, do some Canyoning....

Much Love

OZ Day 5 Camper

Today was a rest day. We walked around the town.... looking for anything to do... and found nothing so we went and had a coffee and returned home so Jen could study. At least the sun was out and NO RAIN!!!

Last night we went out on the town for a large one! The packed RSL club (Retired Soldiers Legion) was absolutely heaving because their was a meat raffle on (!!!) and sadly I didn't win!!! ;-) I also noticed that there was no-one under the age of 210.! They must have trouble chewing that meat they win in the raffle..!

So heading up to Canberra tomorrow for more relative visits and grave cleaning and then into the Blue Mountains to spend the weekend.

Talk soon peeps!

OZ Day 4 Camper

Got out off bed.... and still bloody RAINING!!!

What is it with this weather... you guys back in the UK are enjoying the sun, and we are in the land of OZ and being p@ssed on!

More parrots instead of pigeons (see pic) weird!!!

So we got motoring and have arrived at Jens relatives... Merimbula is the place they live, and we are going to be hanging with them for a few days, before moving on.

The pics are of their 2 dogs, Bindi and Nugget. Bindi emigrated with them from the UK, and is a nightmare still. A rat with teeth that acts like its constantly on a trampoline!. Nugget is more chilled and looks a lot like Pippi (a dog on the farm we live at which passed away last year)

Anyway, not much news, just travelling on.... waiting for some good weather...!

OZ Day 3 Camper

I wish the bloody rain would stop!!!

Today it rained cats and dogs, so we decided to call it a day early afternoon, and set up home about 1 hour away from Jens relatives. We shall drive there tomorrow morning (place is called Merimbula).

So besides the road and rain. We stopped at a supermarket, and found some VEGGIE BACON!!!!!

Laundry washed and dried, and I think we shall watch a movie before bed... How relaxing!
