Day 1 in Bangkok

The flight went well and we arrived in Bangkok in the middle of the rush hour..

We picked up our beautiful pink taxi and headed to the hotel, before slipping some flip flops on and zooming over to meet Dag (Jen's friend from work)


After meeting Dag we went to a Dutch bar call Det 5. Dag had Penang Curry, Jen (as always) had Green Chicken Curry, and I had a Pad Thai. Very nice.... its good to taste some proper Thai food.


And to complete the night, we played a few rounds of Table Football with Dag... the winner was Simon!!!! YAY.... worst table I've ever played on though!


Time for bedski now folks.... gonna sleep well methinks.

2 Days to go...

Over the weekend we said farewell to many people with a heavy night in Basingstoke.

After boozing till the wee hours, we went for a curry and ended up getting home about 2.30am.

After going to bed at 3.45am and waking up early to continue packing, I had a headache from hell.. and the day was a real struggle.

We then went out to dinner with friends who couldn't make it on the Basingstoke night. Once back, we spent the night at Jen's sisters place (since our bed is now in storage!). I must say, slept like a baby!

Today, we took another van load of stuff to storage, before I went to work and Jen had millions of other jobs to do.

Now, at the end of the day... all we have to do tomorrow is sell Jen's car, pack our suitcases, check all our documents... and hopefully relax a little...

The time is nigh!!!

Jetting off Wednesday night... so expect some piccies of a warmer climate by Friday folks..!

1 Week to go....

7 days and counting. The stress and tension is building up..

As I sit in our almost empty house, preparing dinner with 2 pans and even less utensils... I am still waiting for that excitement to hit. To be honest, I don't think we will get excited until we get on the plane. So much to think about, to organise, to cancel, to pay... I don't think we thought about the magnitude of packing up our whole house! What naive fools we are....!

Even with the doom and gloom we feel at this moment, I am positive that when we hit some hot weather and warm waters of that gorgeous island... the stress involved in getting to this point will just dissapear.... like sand through your fingers... :-)

Packing

It seems like we've been packing forever.... and still loads to go!

Over the weekend, a friend kindly loaned the use of his van to shift some of our worldy goods into storage.
We got a lot of the big stuff moved, and now its (hopefully) just bits and bobs...

The house is looking pretty empty...

Its time.... again!!

5 months on.

Its been 2 months since the last post... and life is truly back to normal...

In fact, it seems like a dream that we went on this adventure.

Well, its been a while... Work is back to normal and life as well.


I am still down in the dumps and editing is going slow since the tape loss.
