26th January 2015

Hey guys,

Well.... Its soooooo busy... I am still on a course which I started on the 5th of January, and will not finished until the 17th February... Everyday its editing and diving to get the student to create a documentary about the ocean.  Its hard work, but hopefully will be worth it in the end.

In other news, last week, we had a small guest in the house... It took 10 days to catch him, but after getting a big humane trap, we caught him and I released him elsewhere later that day... I know its a Rat... but still... as long as he not in our house I don't mind...

So, Jenny finished an Open Water Course yesterday, and went straight into a Reef Check with 3 students, plus 8 Divemaster Trainees!! Big first day, but today should be just the 3 students, which will make her day easier to deal with.

Moving wise, Jenny got the key 2 days ago... We still cannot move in, as I have found another hole in the roof, a bedroom needs emptying by the landlord, and some rubbish needs removing... however he has promised that it will be done in the next couple of days (we only have 4 days left!!)... I have moved some boxes, and also hooked up the oven.... we are making progress, but I am sure it will be last minute as always...

I shall do an aerial flight of it when we move in.... not much to look at outside, but at least you can get an idea.... Speaking of aerial flights... yesterday, Thailand decided that from March, drones with cameras will be banned... so I have until then to capture what I want, and then I may be restricted from using it again.... :-(

Hope all is well....

15th January 2015

Today, both I and Simon were off but we decided as we'd promised ages ago that we would take the Crystal bar staff, (Wen & Bi) for a Discover Scuba Dive.  They've watched enough video's, we thought it was about time they got wet and understood why we love it so much and perhaps appreciate me nagging them all the time about giving out plastic straws :-D

So this morning at 9am, we met in the bar and went through all the disclaimers/medical paperwork they needed.
Going through paperwork

Kit on and ready to go

They did really well. The pool was so cold that after a couple of minutes they were shivering their pants off.

Good ole Tim met up with us around 11.30am as we headed out for a beach dive.  Bless him, he's so sweet, had agreed to make a little movie and put it on the big screen screen tonight.

We're not going to say anything to them, so it'll be a big surprize :-D

10th January 2015

So sorry for the lack of blogs.   I don't know where the time has gone.

I had a cold and sore throat over new year and then passed it onto Simon.

I was so sick that we stayed indoors on New Years Eve playing Risk with Kirsty...

I do like to share my bugs :-D  So we've both been feeling a little sorry for ourselves.  It's only today that I actually feel normal although Simon is still suffering but working non the less, such a trooper!

Yesterday I finished a 5 person Open water course with some great English girls and a Swiss guy.  They were great fun and thankfully very good in the water.   They had a video made by Tim and they got pretty emotional  ..argh!!

Not too sure whether I've told you all, but I've taken over ECO Koh Tao from Nathan.  He's returned to Australia with his family.  So I've been busy, cleaning, sorting out the ECO office, as well as catching up on ECO correspondence and teaching Open Water  ..so it's been a busy time.

Today, I held my first Beach/Dive site Clean up.  Only a few DMT's (Dive Masters in training) were free to help so we cleaned around Crystal and just off the beach as now we're having to do the confined pool session in the sea as the Crystal pool is out of action.
